A new set of Performance Measures for the EMS for Children Partnership Grant means a new survey for Ohio EMS agencies
The EMS for Children Partnership Grant changed significantly on March 1, 2017, when a new set of performance measures for the program came into effect. Previous pre-hospital measures focused on on-line and off-line medical direction and pediatric equipment on ambulances. However, after survey results showed that these issues were largely taken care of, the Federal EMS for Children Program changed these measures to emphasize the presence of a pediatric emergency care coordinator (PECC) and skill verification for the use of pediatric equipment.
In order to begin implementing the new measures, we are surveying a sample of Ohio EMS agencies to gather baseline data. To see if your agency is part of the survey, just go to the survey page:
Click on the drop-down menu and select “Ohio”, then select your county. If your agency is listed, you are part of the survey. To complete the survey, download the PDF survey on the main page first, then return to the survey and enter your responses. Even if your agency is not listed, you can download the survey below and complete it for your own quality improvement needs.
More information about these new Performance Measures and the Ohio EMS Survey is available below, as well as results from the previous Ohio EMS survey. If you have any questions, please contact the Ohio EMS for Children Program at EMSC@dps.ohio.gov.
