As executive director of the Division of EMS, Jeffrey A. Leaming leads the office responsible for the education, certification and investigation of all emergency medical service and fire service providers in the state of Ohio. Prior to becoming executive director Leaming worked at the Xenia fire department for 26 years, serving as chief since 2003. He began his fire service with the Spring Valley Township Volunteer Fire Department. He then moved on to Huber Heights where he served as a part-time firefighter and paramedic. In 1985 Leaming was hired to a full-time position with the Xenia Fire Department where he served as a firefighter, paramedic, fire inspector, lieutenant and captain before being appointed to chief in 2003. During his career he has earned awards and achievements with the most notable being the Xenia Firefighter of the Year Award, which he received in 1987. He has a Master's degree in Public Administration. Leaming resides with his wife Gabrielle in Xenia, Ohio. |
