Local Naloxone Education Assistance Training

Local training, written protocols, and medical director approval are required before a local medical director allows Ohio-certified EMS providers to perform naloxone administration in the field.

Ohio EMFTS Board accredited and Ohio EMFTS Board approved training institutions can develop and provide the training from the PowerPoint presentation on this page into an EMS continuing education opportunity following Ohio Administrative Code (OAC) 4765-7-09.

A training module to assist non-medical first responders with administration of naloxone via intranasal route is also available for download.
