The second page of the audit form includes “Fire Audit Form Instructions.” It is important to read and follow the directions carefully.
You need to list all fire-related or fire safety inspector continuing education courses obtained during the audited certification cycle. You have two options for submitting documentation for the hours claimed:
When submitting a computer-generated training record from an employer, the training record shall include the training site charter number or F.D.I.D. number, and signed and a signed and dated attestation from the program director or the certificate holder’s fire chief.
For firefighters affiliated with an Ohio fire department, continuing education shall be provided by an Ohio chartered fire training program or approved by the certificate holder’s fire chief. Continuing education for out-of-state certificate holders shall be provided by an Ohio chartered fire training program, approved by the certificate holder’s out-of-state fire chief, and/or training approved ty the Division of EMS Executive Director (i.e., National Fire Academy courses).
Fire safety inspectors’ education topics are listed in 4765-20-16 of the Ohio Administrative Code. Continuing education must be provided by an Ohio chartered fire training program or approved by the certificate holder’s fire chief.
